Goals / Objectives /Aims:
This guide focuses on the training of School counselors in Career guidance without Gender Stereotypes.
The guide focuses on raising awareness to career counselors, for the need of career guidance without gender stereotypes (to their students) in order to strengthen them with the needed tools, so to accomplish their goal. Also the guide will help them enrich their knowledge, regarding the methodology and application of school counselling in career guidance for a more efficient result. The third goal of this guide is to inform counselors about the conditions in the labor market and the needs emerging through the globalization of the economy, the society and the revolution of new technologies.

“Teaching School Professional Guidance without Gender Stereotypes” is part of the “School without Stereotypes” project, which is implemented within the framework of the Active Citizens program Fund, implemented by Women On Top and partners Openous and Sociality.
This guide focuses on the training of School counselors in Career guidance without Gender Stereotypes.
The first part of the guide clarifies terms related to gender stereotypes and the workplace, such as direct and indirect discrimination, unconscious bias, double standards, the confidence gap, gender role and occupational gender segregation.
The second part of the guide mentions gender identities and how they influence (or do not influence) the choices of teenagers regarding their studies and their future career path.
The third part of the guide mentions gender and wage discrimination in the workplace, STEM education, leadership, entrepreneurship, and developments in the labor market.
Finally, in the fourth part, reference is made to professional counseling and importance of the School career guidance by giving advices and enriching the educational material, which school counselors can use to teach career guidance without gender stereotypes in practice.
