Successful Completion of the GUIDE Project LTTA in Aveiro!

The University of Aveiro recently hosted a highly engaging three-day Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA) as part of the GUIDE project’s activities, focusing on the online training on gender-sensitive career guidance.  The event took place from April 8 to April 10, 2025, at the UNAVE and ATLAS venues in Aveiro, Portugal.

The LTTA began with a warm welcome to participants, followed by an introduction to the GUIDE project and its training objectives. A key highlight of the first day was the first round table discussion on “The Role of Career Guidance in Promoting Gender Equality,” where guests reflected on the impact of stereotypes on career choices and the importance of overcoming them. Participants then attended the first training module, “Introduction to Gender Sensitivity in Career Guidance,” led by CCIS, complemented by group activities and lively discussions.

On the second day, activities shifted to the ATLAS venue. After opening remarks, participants attended the second round table focused on “Challenges and Advances in Promoting Gender Equity in the Labor Market.” The day continued with interactive group activities and two more training modules. Wisamar presented insights on “Gender Equality in the Labour Market,” and DomSpain introduced a practical tool for “Detecting Gender Stereotypes in Career Decisions,” sparking thoughtful exchanges among participants.

The final day returned to UNAVE. It opened with a third round table session centred on ensuring truly inclusive career guidance practices. Participants explored advanced concepts during two additional modules: “Co-creation and Gender Awareness,” delivered by UCL, and “Effective Implementation of Gender-Sensitive Career Guidance and Creating Inclusive Career Pathways,” led jointly by UA and EIDP and presented by EIDP. p-consulting presented the new GUIDE Training Platform, and the event concluded with discussions, feedback collection, and a closing questionnaire.

The round tables featured a distinguished lineup of speakers. Margarida Lemos, Marisa Ban (Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Raquel Madureira (University of Aveiro), Carlos Costa, and Filipa Brandao (University of Aveiro) shared their expertise. They discussed the barriers counsellors face, the role of leadership and mentoring, and the need for digital tools to monitor discrimination. Speakers offered valuable reflections and a short testimonial, that you can watch at the following video available below.

The LTTA provided an inspiring space for learning, sharing experiences, and strengthening efforts to promote gender equality in career guidance across Europe.
